Research Engineer – Digitalization of Power Grid (m/f/d) – ISM Team

Fixed-term (United Kingdom), Full-time · Berlin

Your mission

Design and implement signal processing, embedded systems, and smart sensors for power equipment condition monitoring.
Develop and deploy system architectures for power equipment failure detection.
Implement accelerated signal processing solutions for enhanced system performance.
Develop wireless smart sensor nodes to support advanced monitoring systems.
Design instrumentation software and assist in experimental verification measurements.

Your profile

Ph.D. in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field.
Extensive experience in signal processing, data analysis, embedded systems, and electronics.
Strong expertise in measurement system integration testing and working with typical lab instruments.
Experience in PCB-level hardware design is a plus.
Proficiency in hardware programming (VHDL, Verilog).
Strong programming skills in Python, C/C++, MATLAB; experience in collaborative coding and version control (GitHub/GitLab) is a plus.
Hands-on approach, problem-solving mindset, and strong teamwork skills.
Proficiency in English; fluency in German
